The City of Minot Planning Commission generally meets monthly one week prior to regularly scheduled City Council meetings regarding zone change requests and other matters pertaining to planning within Minot and the two-mile extraterritorial zone surrounding Minot.  Recommendations made by the Planning Commission may be discussed at the City Council meetings prior to the City Council making any decision.  Planning Commission members are volunteers that are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.  All items below are considered a public hearing unless otherwise specified.

 

           The City of Minot Planning Commission will meet in regular session on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall.  At that meeting, the following public hearings will be opened:

 

Approval of minutes – July 26, 2010

 

Election of chairman.

 

1.     Reconsideration of an application by E&P Wireline Services, LLC, Mark Walton, for a special use permit to store explosives in a shop facility and for a storage bunker on the property known as Outlot 70, Section 21-155-82.  This property is located at 205 42nd Street SE.

 

2.      Application by Wayne Aga to subdivide the unplatted portion of the  W½SE¼ of Section 2-154-83 into 4 lots to be known as Lots 1-4, Deer Creek 2nd Addition.  Also, a request to change the zone from AG (Agricultural District) to R-1 (Single-family Residence District) on proposed Lots 1-4, Deer Creek 2nd Addition. This property is located east of 16th Street SW and north of 54th Avenue SW.

 

3.     Application by Puppy Dog Properties, LLC, John Coughlin, to subdivide the unplatted portion of the SE ¼ SE ¼ of Section 36-155-83 into 1 lot to be known as Lot 1, Southwood 14th Addition. Also, a request to change the zone from AG (Agricultural District) to R-3 (Multiple Family Residence District) on proposed Lot 1, Southwood 14th Addition. This property is located at 37th Avenue SE and 13th Street SE.

 

4.     Application by Feist Construction, Inc., Dean Feist, to subdivide an unplatted portion of the SW1/4, Section 31-155-82 into one lot to be known as Lot 1, Woodside 12th Addition.  Also, a request to change the zone from AG (Agricultural District) to R-3 (Multiple Family Residence District) on proposed Lot 1, Woodside 12th Addition.  Also, a request to annex into city limits proposed Lot 1, Woodside 12th Addition and adjoining 13th Street SE right of way.  This property is located just north of 35th Avenue SE and east of 13th Street SE. 

 

5.     Application by Gong Properties, LLP, Jock Stevick, to change the zone from R-3 (Multi-family Residence District) and C-4 (Planned Commercial District) to C-2 (General Commercial District) on Lots 6 & 7, Block 2, Urban 4th Addition and Lot 5, Urban 7th Addition.  This property is located just east of 10th Street SW and north of 37th Avenue SW.

 

6.     Application by Ronald L. Patten to subdivide Lots 1 & 2, Sorensen 2nd Addition into one lot to be known as Lot 1, Patten Addition.  Also, a request for a variance to be allowed to relocate an existing accessory building with a height greater than the allowable 16’.  An approximate 2’ variance is being requested. This property is located just south of the BNSF rail line and east of 33rd Street SW, near the city landfill.

 

7.     Application by Premiere Development 2, LLC, John Coughlin, for a special use permit to relocate a manufactured home used as the office for Coughlin Construction to a site known as proposed Lot 1, Premiere Addition.  This property is located at the former KX13 site, just south of 31st Avenue SW along South Broadway.

 

8.     Application by Timbers Construction, Mike Probst, to change the zone from R-3C to R-3 on Lots 1A-4B, Bel Air Twinhomes Addition.  This property is located just north of 4th Avenue NW and west of 27th Street NW.

 

9.     Application by Red Door Homes of Minot, LLC, Chris Tietz, for a variance to the square footage and width requirements to allow the construction of single-family homes on lots less than 6,000 sf and smaller than 60’ wide on Lots 1A-3B, Block 1, Elk Heights 2nd Addition.  This property is located just north of 20th Avenue SW and east of 28th Street SW. 

 

10.   Application Premiere Hospitality, LLC, John Coughlin, to subdivide Lots 4-7, Block 2, less highway right of way and vacated alleyway, Radio City Subdivision into one lot to be known as Lot 1, Premiere 2nd Addition.  This property is located at the intersection of 31st Avenue SW and South Broadway.

 

11.   Application by Lindsey Doubek and Flint Schmeichel to subdivide an unplatted portion of the SE1/4NW1/4, Section 26-155-83 into two lots to be known as Lots 1 & 2, Coen and Keller Addition.  This property is located near 12th Street SW and north of 16th Avenue SW.
