Youth Track

Look for the Summer brochure to come around the 1st of April.  It will be handed out in the schools, and will have a lot of information in it about the summer activities.

Youth Spring Track                There will be a spring track program for girls and boys in grades 4, 5 and 6.   Meets will be held the first 3 Monday's in May (6th, 13th and 20th) at the Duane Carlson Stadium @ 6:00 P.M. (7th Street & 11th Ave SW)  These meets will be running events only.  No pre-registration is necessary.

Summer Olympics       The Summer Olympics is a track meet for children ages 6 - 14.  Children compete against others in their age group in running, jumping, and throwing events.  Ribbons are given to all participants. The Summer Olympics program will take place on the following Tuesday evenings: June 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th at the Duane Carlson Stadium @ 6:00 P.M.

 Hershey District Track Meet The Hershey Track Meet will be held on Thursday, June 6th @ 6:00 P.M. at the Duane Carlson Field. This meet is sponsored by the Hershey Candy Company and is for children who are ages 9-14 as of December 31, 2013.  Children must pre-register by Friday, May 31st at the Minot Recreation Office.  *No entries will be accepted the day of the meet.  Winners will advance to the State Meet in Rugby on Saturday, June 15, 2013 

Entry forms for the Hershey Track Meet can be picked up at the Recreation office at the City of Minot Auditorium or can be found on the Hersey’s Track website under the “official Rulebook” https://www.hersheystrackandfield.com  Completed forms and a copy of birth document are to be returned or the Recreation office NO LATER than MAY 30 2014. (MUST INCLUDE A COPY OF BIRTH DOCUMENT)              

CROSS COUNTRY IN THE PARK -FALL -CROSS COUNTRY IN THE PARK -FALL - The Minot Recreation Commission and the Minot High Girls Cross-Country Team will again be hosting  5 races this fall for children Preschool through 6th grade.  Dates are Sept 9, 16, 23, 30 and Oct. 7. It will be held at Oak Park starting promptly at 6:15 pm.  There is no registration....just show up. Race Order/Distance are as follows:  Pre-K and K (coed race) - 1000 meters, Girls Grades 1-3 - 1200 meters, Boys Grades 1-3 - 1200 meters, Girls Grades 4-6 - 1600 meters, Boys Grades 4-6 - 1600 meters.  There is NO COST for your child to participate.   Each student will receive a weekly ribbon and will also have the opportunity to earn an award at the completion of the season.  To be eligible for the seasonal award, you must complete 4 races.  If you have any questions please call Ann Nesheim at 701-857-4730 of Glee Mayer at 701-852-6401.
