Special Event Permit
A Special Event Permit (PDF) to allow a licensee to operate at premises other than the license premise can be issued administratively by the City Clerk's Office upon the following terms and conditions:

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the emergencies declared by the State of North Dakota and the City of Minot, in addition to any general requirements for a special event permit, either by local ordinance or state law, this special event permit is subject to the following requirements:
1. The License Holder must strictly adhere to all Executive Orders issued by Governor Burgum relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. These Executive Orders are available at https://www.governor.nd.gov/executive-orders.
2. The License Holder must adhere to the ND Smart Restart Standards Across All Industries as well as any ND Smart Restart Standards that may pertain to your individual business or gathering. The ND Smart Restart Standards can be accessed at ndresponse.gov
- Receipt of $25 (non-refundable) permit fee.
- The permit application which includes:
- The nature of the occasion for the permit (e.g. wedding dance, trade show, promotion, etc)
- The steps which will be undertaken by the permitted to restrict the sale to, and consumption of, alcoholic beverages by minors at such occasion
- The written approval by the Chief of Police of the issuance of the permit.
- A special event permit may not be used for the off-sale of alcoholic beverages.
- A special event permit may not be valid for a period greater than 14 days.
