Broadway, 30th Ave NW projects to impact traffic beginning July 8

Two construction projects will impact traffic on Broadway and on 30th Avenue Northwest beginning Monday, July 8.

The asphalt overlay on North Broadway is nearly complete, and the contractor will be starting work on replacing various concrete panels between 20th Avenue Southwest and 21st Avenue Northwest. Work between 11th Avenue Northwest and 21st Avenue Northwest is scheduled to begin Monday, July 8. There will be some single lane closures during the project, which will continue through much of this construction season.

The first phase of work on 30th Avenue NW is also scheduled to begin Monday, with the section of roadway between 8th Street NW and 16th Street NW being closed to through traffic. Local access will be provided, with through traffic detouring to 21st Avenue NW. This is the first of multiple phases to reconstruct 30th Avenue NW from Broadway to the Highway 83 Bypass. Additional lane closures and detours will take place later this month and into August.

“These projects will influence traffic in Minot, but it’s important that we maintain our current infrastructure and build new infrastructure where it’s needed,” said City Engineer Lance Meyer. “We know that 30th Avenue Northwest has become an important east-west route for drivers and it’s vital that we reconstruct and update that roadway.”
