The Minot City Council approved a recruitment schedule to fill the vacant city manager position during its Aug. 17 meeting.
The City received numerous applications for the position since it was posted in April. The Council voted in July to hire GovHR USA to conduct a broad search to fill the vacant city manager position. The Council, at is Aug. 17 meeting, approved the following timeline:
July 21: Initial conversation with human resources director to discuss the executive search.
Aug. 5-7: Interviews with mayor and City Council members, department directors, and any other stakeholders.
Aug. 10: Draft profile and position advertisement text to the City of Minot for approval.
Sept. 25: Deadline for resumes.
Sept. 25-Oct. 16: Consultant reviews resumes, interviews candidates, conducts background reviews, due diligence, etc. Consultant narrows field to 8-12 candidates for further consideration.
Oct. 16: Consultant submits recruitment report to City of Minot.
Week of Oct. 19: Consultant meets with Minot mayor and City Council to review candidates.
Late October: Minot mayor and City Council conduct interviews and selects candidate.
Nov.-Dec.: Candidate begins employment.
