Traffic reduced to head-to-head on stretch of Burdick beginning Friday

Beginning Friday morning, vehicle traffic will be head-to-head on Burdick Expressway between South Broadway and the Burdick viaduct. No left turns will be permitted between First Street SW and the Burdick viaduct.

Both eastbound lanes will be closed to vehicle traffic; channelized pedestrian traffic will still be available on the south side of Burdick Expressway.

The change will allow contractors on the North Dakota Department of Transportation project more space to work while they install new accessible pedestrian ramps on the south side of Burdick, allowing the work to be completed quicker.

The ADA ramp work is expected to be completed at the end of next week, and then the project will move to the two north lanes of Burdick. When all of the ADA work is completed, a mill and overlay project on that stretch of Burdick Expressway is anticipated to start Sept. 27.
